**NOTE: This list only reflects unanticipated changes in school schedules, such as weather-related delays and cancellations. 
Scheduled delays and closings, such as those for teacher in-service or vacations, are not included on this list.

ATTENTION VERIZON WIRELESS CUSTOMERS:  WFIN and WKXA Radio are aware of an issue that is preventing text alert messages from being received by Verizon customers. We are working on this problem with our text message vendor and hope to have it corrected as soon as possible.  However, it is a result of changes made at Verizon and out of our control.

In an attempt to protect their customers from unwanted text messages, or SPAM, Verizon has developed a formula to drop certain messages. Unfortunately, text messages from subscription services like school closings, were caught in this formula. At this time, Verizon does not provide a method for their customers to "approve" certain senders.

Our vendor is working with third party cell phone aggregators to remedy the situation. We greatly appreciate your patience with this and hope to have it fixed as soon as possible. If you are not a Verizon customer and are not receiving text messages, please email  alerts@wfinwkxa.com with your  problem, cell number and wireless carrier. Thank you.
